Well, it has been such a social whirl that there has been no time to gt to the computer between end of term shows at school, the kind where they don't serve you alcohol and you are reduced to buying small, hand-bag size, bottles of cheap Cyprus brandy and sneaking them into your coke in the interval in the loos...Just like being back at school. What is wrong with these parents? Don't they protest? they don't even seem to notice. is it normal to expect you to spend an evening at a school concert sans even a glass of wine?
Well, there was no wine at the Pavarotti concert either. Just one big car park, some white plastic chairs a mayor who made a really embarrassing introductory speech, forgetting to mention the soprano or the orchestra and an audience that still can't turn up until half an hour after the concert is supposed to have started even though, as the mayor said this has marked Cyprus as a world centre for cultural events! My arse. And I had to leave a good party to get there on time. But that is what comes from being British....
